Fun fact

Golden Lions Tamarins use different sleeping dens within dense vines and hollow trees each night to reduce the scent left behind so that predators struggle to find them.

Conservation

Once down to around 200 individuals in the wild but brought back from the brink of extinction by a successful reintroduction program. Priority conservation actions include the planting of forest corridors and working with local landowners to assure permanent protection of the forest remaining on their farms.
